EDITH AMELIA STEWART (nee DEMPSEY) December 28, 1924 - July 31, 2010 In the wee small hours of Saturday, July 31, our Mom/Grandma left this world to find eternal rest after a long and debilitating struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. She was predeceased by her husband Jack (1992) and her three brothers, Steve, Merv and Clare. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Cathy, son-in-law David Harrison and her much loved grandsons John (Ashley) and Michael (Caroline). Mom was born and spent most of her years living in East End Toronto until 2003 at which time her health began to decline. Together we decided it would be best for her to move to Winnipeg to be closer to our family for help and support. For the past three years Mom has resided at Riverview Health Centre in Personal Care on CD-1. Our family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and health care providers who have cared for Mom over the past several years. A special thank you to Dr. L. Hilderman and Dr. E. Doermer. A heartfelt thank you to the kind and competent staff at Riverview CD-1. Thank you as well to Evelyn Ward and Doris Loewen whose gentle caring hands helped Mom to look and feel her best. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment of ashes will take place in Toronto at Pine Hills Cemetery in the Veterans Section where she will rest alongside her husband. A Come and Go Tea for all who wish to join our family in remembering Mom will follow at Pine Hills Reception Centre (time and date to be announced).
