BERNICE LOVIE ALEXANDRIA DANNON GRABISH (nee MARTON) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bernice Lovie Grabish on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre. Bernice was predeceased by her parents Katherine and Sabien Marton. She leaves to mourn her husband Thomas, only daughter Calla (Bohdan Kozoris), sisters Pat Carriere and Deborah Adams. In Bernice's early years she was a member of the Ukrainian Workers Benevolent Association and was involved in various activities. These included playing the mandolin in the orchestra, dancing in venues throughout Manitoba and studying the Ukrainian language. Bernice worked at Ashdowns as Head of the Accounts Receivable Department. Later, with her husband, they became owners of Transcona Quick Freeze Ltd. After 29 years in business they retired (1999). Bernice was artistic, creative, a fabulous cook, animal lover, and an avid reader who was conversant on a variety of topics. Most importantly, she was devoted to her family. In respect of Bernice's wishes, there was no funeral service and cremation has taken place.
