He died peacefully with family at his side. Lucien is survived by his loving wife Eva, of 55 years, his five children, Carol, Colleen, Lou Jr., Connie and Carrie; his five grandchildren Carlette, Nolan, Blaine, James and Kenah, and his two great-grandchildren Kylah and Bryce; as well as siblings Henriette Bruce, Beatrice Knapp, Marcel Lavallee, Suzanne Zeke and Paul, among numerous relatives and friends. Dad has left us to be with his parents Pierre Henri and Marie, as well as his brothers Dede (Andre) and L'Homme (Daniel). Dad was born in St. Laurent, MB and lived his married life in Winnipeg. He was a hard working iron worker for many years until his early retirement due to his illness. Dad loved family dinners, playing bingo, cards, and Mom's favourite board game Sorry'. He was a generous and outgoing man who enjoyed life. Our family would like to say a special thank you to all of the staff on GH4 at Health Sciences Centre. Your compassion and care were greatly appreciated. The pain we feel most deeply are the hardest things today because we, your family, loved you in a special way. We hold you close within our hearts; no distance can divide. For today, in memory's lane, we still walk side by side. Our thoughts are with you, your place no one can fill. In life we loved you dearly; in death we love you still. We love you Dad. Cremation has taken place. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Fr. Kerbrat officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
