HILDA GARN It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Hilda Garn on the evening of August 9, 2010 in St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 85 years. Hilda will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Peter Garn (Wendy Carnegie), Krista Hummerston (Kelly Hummerston), great-grandchildren Ethen Garn, Brayden Hummerston, daughter-in-law Lesley Olson, sister Selma Puschke, nieces / nephews Rolf Hildebrandt, Lucy Hildebrandt, and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wilhelm Garn, son Erich Garn, and sister Jenny from Germany. The family would like to thank Arlene and Lynn the I.C.U. nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and wonderful care of Hilda until the very end. A funeral service celebrating Hilda's life will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. The service will take place at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church located on 65 Walnut Street. The interment will follow at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Reception will follow the interment at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
