Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARVEY STOKOLOFF March 23, 1916 - August 3, 2010 I regretfully announce the peaceful passing of my father Harvey Stokoloff on August 3, 2010 at the Grace Hospital. He leaves to mourn his memory his daughter Leslie (Bill); nieces and nephews, Bobby Bass, Jacquie Baron, Elliot Stokoloff (Linda) and Rick Stokoloff. Harvey was predeceased by his first wife Mickey in 1955; his parents Morris and Edith; his son Chuck; sister Sue; brother-in-law Max; brother Ike; sister-in-law Naomi, and brother Richard. He was also predeceased by his second wife Mina. Dad was born in Winnipeg on March 23, 1916. He grew up in the north end and as a young man went overseas to fight in the Second World War. He returned as a decorated war veteran and married the love of his life, Mickey. Together they had two children, Chuck and Leslie. Upon his return from overseas Harvey also started his career in high end men's fashion retail. He worked at such stores as Holt Renfrew, Reiss Fur and Fashion, even doing some modelling for these companies because of his great fashion sense. Dad had a very strong work ethic and this was instilled in his children. He also had the gift of the gab , he had impeccably good taste that was evident in his manner of dress and he had the ability to make anyone look great from head to toe. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the nurses on 3 North at the Grace Hospital and to Dr. Meyrowitz and Dr. Cowden. His homecare workers especially Michael, Sara, Randy and Earl at 1 Evergreen Place, he so very much appreciated all of you. Funeral services were held Friday, August 6 at Rosh Pina Memorial Park. Active pallbearers were Jerome Avery, Hart Peikoff, Les Slotin, Zvi Gordon and his nephews, Elliot and Rick. If friends so desire, contributions in memory of Harvey may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
