Mary was born on September 2, 1925 in Pine Ridge, MB, which is now the North Drive in Birds Hill Park. Mom was the oldest of 18 children, life on the farm was very busy, mom worked hard, but she had lots of fun times also. One special time is when her brother Stan was born, he was born on September 2, which was her birthday, and since that day they have remained extremely close. Her children kept her busy throughout the school year. Mom volunteered her time at Isaac Brock School escorting children on field trips. She received volunteer awards from Isaac Brock Community Centre, which she proudly displayed. Mom was proud to be a member of the Army and Navy Branch #1 for over 15 years, which is located on Empress Street. She enjoyed going there on Saturday afternoons to socialize with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing Bingo on Wednesday nights. When friends and family came for a visit she enjoyed board games and playing cards. She was an avid bowler at Polo Park Lanes for many years, we would like to thank Sam and Moira for making sure mom had transportation to Polo Park. We are blessed that mom was able to stay in her home, where she enjoyed her flowers, backyard and her small garden. Mom's door was always open to friends and family. A special thank you to daughter-in-law Val for taking time to ensure that mom was always comfortable and received the best possible care. We are all going to miss mom's baking and Ukrainian cooking. She will be sadly missed by all her friends. She will also be sadly missed by her cat Meekow. She was a wife and loving mom and grandma, and will always and forever remain in our hearts. Prayers and visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral service to follow on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Chapel. Forever in our hearts Love and remember you always. Veronica, Raymond, Gloria, Ingrid, Bob and Rick
