Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN PAUL MCNAUGHTON April 15, 1947 August 9, 2010 It is with tremendous sadness that the family announces that Paul McNaughton passed away at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the age of 63 years. Paul leaves to mourn his loss his wife Marilyn, daughter Michelle (Paul), son Jason (Jennifer), four beautiful grandchildren, Kaytlin, Hannah, Emily and Ty, his mother Dorothy, sister Marcia, sisters-in-law Bonnie Quesnel (Art) and Rhonda Daman and his nephews Kevin and Daryl Quesnel, David Fletcher, Quinn Gavaga, Jordan Gavaga and Tyler McNaughton. He was predeceased by his father, Fletcher and his step-father, Stan Mitchell. Paul was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg with his family as a young child. He lived in St. Vital and received his education there. In 1966 Paul joined the RCMP and after training in Regina, SK and Penhold, AB he received his first posting to Cloverdale, B.C. in September 1966 where he stayed until he was called up for training for the Musical Ride in Ottawa. He completed the training and was posted back to Cloverdale then to New Westminster, B.C. and finally to the Vancouver Detachment. Paul thoroughly enjoyed his time with the RCMP but decided he wanted to try something different as a career path. He and his family moved back to Winnipeg where he took a position as a Sales Representative with the Mennen Company for the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. After two years, he was hired by Pentel of Canada and represented them for five years. Paul always wanted his own business so he initiated McNaughton Agency and represented many companies in the stationery sales business as a Manufactures Rep. In 1993, he and his wife moved to Langley, B.C. to begin an Agency in Seasonal Sales for Western Canada joining forces with Norlandam Marketing in Toronto. This partnership endured until Paul's passing. Paul traveled the world meeting with his customers and was extremely well respected within the Industry. Paul's favourite place in the world was Lake of the Woods and he spent many wonderful weekends there over the years with his family enjoying fishing, boating and the company of great friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Bethesda Hospital and Dr. Mark Duerksen for their kind and compassionate care. No formal service will be held as per Paul's wishes. A private family gathering will take place at Lake of the Woods to honour and celebrate Paul's life. Memorial donations may be made to Bethesda Hospital, 316 Henry Street, Steinbach, MB R5G 0P7.
