GLADYS MARY GATES (nee BRADLEY) In the arms of her family, Mary passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 90 years. Left to mourn and remember Mary are siblings Nellie, Frances and Jack; daughter Terry; son Brian (Delwynn); grandsons Rob and Darby; granddaughters Christina (Loris), Brooke (Trevor), Morgan (Yanik); great-grandsons Randy, Kyle and Benett; great-granddaughters Sarah and Jenna; great-great-grandson Alex and extended family member Denise. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Frances; siblings Bessie, Ena and Joan; husband Jim; infant son James; daughter Linda (Don). Mary was born in Manchester, England. She served with the British Army where she met her husband Jim and returned to Canada as a war bride. Most of her life was spent in Winnipeg where she worked at many jobs. Mary was very talented and could sew anything, and was as familiar with a hammer as she was with a crochet hook. She was always full of optimism and enthusiasm. Life never gave Mary a challenge she couldn't meet. A day wouldn't go by that she wasn't either reading a book or heading off to a garage sale. Mary loved to dress up and was quite the diva. She was dearly loved and will be missed tremendously. In compliance with Mary's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Tower 5 at Deer Lodge Centre for their devoted care and kindness to our mother. We love you Mum
