Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH DOUGLAS CLARK It is with sadness that we announce that on Friday, August 13, 2010 at age 84, Ken passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre. He is survived by his loving wife (of 54 years) Veronica (nee Caplette), sister Irene, brother Arthur (Delores) (both of Saskatoon), son Douglas (Shirley), grandchildren Bryan (Stefani) and Devin, and great-grandchild Maverick. Ken was predeceased by his brother Charles. Born to Albert and Eliza in Saskatoon, Ken was a 1926 New Year's baby who grew up on the farm at Blucher, SK. In 1943, following in the footsteps of his enlisted older brothers he decided that at age 17 he was ready to join the Canadian Army and see the world. While he was too young to see action in the Second World War, he served overseas during the Korean War. He did see most of the Canadian Army bases in Canada before returning home and spending the majority of his military career in Winnipeg with the R.C.E.M.E. Division of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry at Kapyong Barracks. He retired from the military in 1969 as a Warrant Officer and immediately began working in the Physics building at the University of Manitoba where he assisted in manufacturing research components for the linear accelerator until his retirement. Ken was a lifelong member of the South Osborne Legion and devoted his time in organizing activities and serving on the Board. Ken will be remembered for his good nature and easygoing personality and despite two bouts with Cancer he remained uncomplaining. The family would particularly like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of CancerCare for their ongoing care and support. Private Service.
