MIKE GALLANT Sadly on August 17, 2010 with his family at his side, Michael Allan Gallant passed away at the age of 46. Mike was born on October 6, 1963 in Iserlohn, Germany. Although born in Germany, Mike grew up in Winnipeg then continued onto Sperling, Manitoba in 2002. Mike truly loved living in Sperling. He was an active community volunteer with the Sperling Fire Department acting as the Deputy Fire Chief. Mike always enjoyed his Sunday afternoons watching Nascar races or working on vintage cars with Chris and Vern. Mike will be forever remembered by his loving and supportive wife Marge; parents Fred and Sandy Gallant; mother-in-law Charlotte Mellon; brothers Kevin (Kim) Gallant, Dean (Amber) Gallant and Mike Sutherland; sisters Karen (Dennis) Esayenko and Kim (Jim) Kennedy, along with numerous nephews and a niece. Mike was predeceased by his mom Joyce Gallant, brother Sean Sutherland and Grandma Flo. Mike unconditionally loved his dogs Sam, Mary and Kiki, all departed in the last few years, awaiting his arrival at the Rainbow Bridge. Marge and his family would like to express special thanks to Cheryl and the Staff from CancerCare at Boundary Trails for their compassion and excellent care. Mike fought a courageous battle against cancer over the past few years and had been cared for by many dedicated individuals from Boundary Trails Health Centre, Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg and CancerCare Manitoba. We thank you all. Mike requested that he be laid to rest in the Sperling Cemetery and that there be no formal service. All are welcome to join his family and friends on August 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. for his interment. A luncheon in the Sperling Arena to celebrate Mike's journey through life will follow at noon. Mike wanted all those attending to be in casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support CancerCare Manitoba at Boundary Trails Health Centre. We will miss you dearly and love you forever. Arrangements in care of Doyle's Funeral Home, Carman.

I just recently found out that Mike had passed away. I was a good friend of Mike's for a short period of time back in Jr High and High School. I often have thought of Mike and the incredible fun times I had with him. I will choose to use discretion and keep my lips shut but damn he was a fun character and a riot to be around. (I always watched the TV 'That 70's Show" and I would tell people I knew this guy Mike and he was character right from that show) In case no one knows Mike loved Music - Ted Nugent & Kiss and for a big guy he was also quite good at hockey.. We used to beg his brother Kevin to buy beer for us when we were teenagers and I'll tell you Kevin was a great guy also. Sorry to hear about Mike and from the people I still know Mike was loved and respected across the board, he was a true great guy and MAN was he fun to be around.. - Posted by: Trevor (Friend) on: Nov 14, 2020

It is with deep sorrow that we read this obituary. We had no idea that Michael passed away. I remember him as a small boy coming to our home in Germany and later years when Bob and I lived in Winnipeg. He was a lovely child as were all of the Gallant children. We spent so much time together. Our Deepest Sympathies to his wife and all the family. Norm and Marie (Hull) Langdon - Posted by: Marie Langdon (Family Friend) on: Jan 16, 2013
