HELEN (ELSIE) PANAGAPKO (nee PICH) With heavy hearts and great sadness, we wish to announce the peaceful passing of Elsie at the age of 87, with her loving family by her side, on Friday, August 13, 2010 while vacationing in Calgary. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Peter in 1997; her parents, Theodore and Mary; her brothers, John, Fred, Sam and Paul; and her sisters, Kate, Mary, Ann, Evelyn and Pearl. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Dolores (Brent) Lambert, and Gloria (Tom) Maunder; granddaughters, Nicole (Kris) Quinn, Linnae Lambert, Kirsten Fanai, grandson, Brent Maunder; and great-granddaughters, Meghan and Vanessa Quinn. She will also be remembered with love by her sister, Helen (Harold) Ashmore from Toronto and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Weiden, Manitoba on February 14, 1923. Mom and Dad were married in 1943 and farmed in this community until we moved to Winnipeg in 1955. Our family has wonderful memories and will forever cherish the time we spent with them. For the last 12 years she lived with her daughters and was embraced by both families. Funeral service to celebrate Mom's life will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsie's memory to a charity of choice. Heartfelt thanks to the special girls from Home Care.
