Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLARRY BLAINE SOLAR On August 5, 2010 Larry peacefully passed away from diabetic complications. Predeceased by father Joseph and beloved mother Emily; survived by sisters Beverley and Linda; nieces Christine, Lauren, Avril, Marie and nephew Darren and eight great-nieces and nephews. Born April 6, 1946, raised in Hazelridge, Manitoba, graduated from Springfield Collegiate in Oakbank 1965, followed by a 27 year career with Environment Canada A.E.S. Branch - Upper Air Ice Reconnaissance Division in the far northern outposts of Canada. He had spent over 3,500 days in isolation (Arctic summers) and semi-isolation (East Coast winters) and had flown over 10,000 hours of ice reconnaissance. Later settled in Toronto, Ontario establishing the first Mobile Concierge and Limousine service known as 'Larry Solar of the Solar System'. Special thanks to Liz Eddy for your care and compassion during his illness. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service to be held in Manitoba at a later date. As per Larry's request, part of his ashes will be returned to Resolute Bay in the Arctic, a place he loved so fondly. As per Larry's last wishes donations to the Toronto Star Christmas Wish Fund would be appreciated. NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT NOW Willie Nelson R.I.P.
