HENRY STEPHEN LIGHT Our dear Father, Husband, Grandfather (Poppy), Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Friend, was gathered peacefully onto God in the early morning of August 19, 2010. Hank is survived by his children David (Darcia), Robert, Catherine, Brian (Monique) and his grandchildren Derek (Laura), Jillian, Simone, Renée, Aiden, Kieran, and his wife Loretta. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters Ruth (Ted), May Rakai, brother George (Pearl), many nieces and nephews, and his Newfoundland family, Noreen and Don Jackman, Rose and Jim Farrell, and brother-in-law Jack Lavers and their families. He is predeceased by his parents Paulina and Gustav Light, his sisters Erma Jonasson, Elizabeth Finzell, Erma Wenzel and brother Robert, brothers-in-law Joe Rakai, Alvin Wenzel, James Finzell and his Newfoundland family, Catherine and Matthew Farrell and sister-in-law Marie Lavers. In the Second World War, Hank served overseas with the 112th Battery 6th Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery. He also served 20 years in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (R.C.M.P.) retiring as Sergeant Major. On retirement from the R.C.M.P., Hank served 20 years with the Manitoba Provincial Civil Service (Northern Affairs), serving in Thompson, The Pas, Selkirk and Winnipeg. Our family wishes to express their gratitude to the many health professionals, especially Dr. O. Prodin, the W.R.H.A., Department of Veterans Affairs and the Taché Care Centre who assisted in every way to make Dad's journey through illness as comfortable as possible. God Bless you.
