PETER GIESBRECHT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Peter Giesbrecht, at home with his wife at his side, on August 20, 2010 after a lengthy illness with ALS. Peter is remembered fondly by his loving family: wife of 38 years, Annette, sons George and Cory, three grandchildren, Katrina, Landon and Aiden, two brothers Dave and Bill and sister Margaret. Peter was born on October 25, 1946, and worked approximately 28 years for the C.N.R. Thanks to the doctors, nurses, and friends who cared for Peter during the last two and a half years. The family would also like to make a special mention and thank you to Janni and Ed Versteeg for their love and care of Peter; their support is very much appreciated, and is also a strong testimony to the high quality of their characters. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A celebration of Peter's life will follow on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Canadian Reformed Church, 211 Rougeau Ave. at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. Thanks finally to the members of the Canadian Reformed Church for embracing and loving Peter over the years.
