MANUEL JOSE MEDEIROS Manuel Medeiros, 75, of Faial da Terra, St. Miguel, Acores, Portugal, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Dartmouth, NS. He was born on July 29, 1935 to the late Manuel and Olinda Medeiros, number 13 of 14 children. He served as a Public Servant of the Government of Portugal. Manuel immigrated to Winnipeg, MB in April of 1972. He was joined by his wife and two children in 1973. Manuel lived in Winnipeg for 35 years then moved to Dartmouth, NS in November of 2008. Surviving are his wife, Maria Teresa Medeiros; son, John Umberto Medeiros; daughters, Anna Isabel, Paula Cristina, and Rosa Candida; daughter-in-law, Erminia and son-in-law, David McNally; his precious grandchildren, Tyler, Steven, Mason, Julian, Lindsay-Ann, and Liam-Alexander; sister, Constance Medeiros; sister and brother-in-law, Floripes and Elias Barbosa; and many nieces, cousins, and nephews around the globe. A special thanks from the family to the nurses of The Victoria Order of Nurses for their care and compassion. Also special thanks to the Palliative Team at the Victoria General.
