PAUL WARYWODA Peacefully on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at home, Paul passed away at the age of 64 years after a two year battle with ALS. He is predeceased by his parents Mike and Frances Warywoda, and sister Shirley-Mae. Paul is survived by his beloved wifey Gail and his two children, Lee (Crystal) and Jamie, grandchildren Joey and Katie, sisters Joan (Mike) Murash, Debbie (Rob) Lawson, nieces and nephews, and loyal dog Kobi. After 38 years with various government departments, Paul retired from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency at the age of 58. He then devoted himself to full time farming which was cut short by his illness. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and his garden. He was insanely proud of his children and their accomplishments, and especially cherished his time with his grandchildren. Paul was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Heartfelt thanks to Dianna Rasmussen of the ALS Society of Manitoba who tried to help us to understand the complexities of this terrible disease and helped us to live with it. Also, special thanks to our weekly angel Ann Ediger of the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit who recommended medications and gave us laughs to keep us going. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. (viewing commences at 1:30 p.m.) at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the ALS Society of Manitoba or the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
