ELEONORE KIRKEBY (nee VANCAUWENBERGH) October 27, 1939 - August 22, 2010 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Mom was born in St. Boniface and spent most of her life in that area, as well as Fort Richmond and most recently Oakbank. Mom will always be remembered for the profound love of her family. She is survived by her sons: Joey (Jodi) and Brad Horst as well as her two grandsons Colton and Landon, who meant the world to her. She is also survived by her siblings: Danny (Bea), Denise (Robert), Suzanne (Ben), Delphine (Ted), Alberta, Eugene (Claire), Marlene (Denis) and Judy (Ray); many nieces and nephews, as well as long time companion Joe Aerssens. Mom was predeceased by her parents Charles and Maria; her sister Irene; her brothers: Albert, Maurice, Joey and Roger. We would like to say a special thank you to Auntie Judy and Auntie Birdie for your love and support over the last many months and helping with Mom's care. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, August 27 at 1:00 p.m. in Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.
