MARY VERONICA MACKAY (nee LARKIN) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary (Mom and Nana), after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, on August 22, 2010. Mom was born on April 20, 1924 to Albert and Mary Larkin in New Liskeard, Ontario. She married Lorne MacKay on March 27, 1967. They came to East Selkirk in 1973 where they enjoyed many years on The Farm . Mary was predeceased by her beloved Lorne on April 19, 1997. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Heather (Jeff) and Lorne's children, who were like her own, Doreen (Gerald), Alexa (Jack) and David (Audrey); nine grandchildren, Alfred, Cathy, Colleen, Mike, Bonny, Miranda, Andrew, Morgan and Corwyn; and six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Michelle, Adrian, Blaine and William. Mom enjoyed playing cards, reading, bingo and cooking for her family. Her greatest pleasure came from having her grandchildren by her side. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Fr.
