Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEON COX Leon Peter Cox the second to the oldest of five children to Adolphus and Mildred Cox was born on October 19, 1937 on the island of Trinidad and Tobago. He was born and raised in the West Indies and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in the 1960s to higher his education. During his studies, and subsequent degree in Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Winnipeg, Leon participated and obtained high achievements in many sports such as Provincial table tennis champion for single and mixed doubles, cricket, football, track and field and his ultimate passion...golf. He remained in Winnipeg to pursue a career in the Social Services and raised his family until his sudden passing in the early hours of Monday, August 23, 2010. Words cannot express the deep sadness felt for the sudden passing of our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He leaves his wife Patricia; three brothers Joseph, Hugh, and Terrence; two sisters Pearl and Brenda; his six children Melinda, Leanna-Fay, Andrea, Peter, Kathleen (David), and Sean. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren Shane and wife Tanya-Lee, Kayla, Hayden and fiancé Jessica, Devin, Matthew, Jordan, Justyce, Lianne, Yanelle, and Sondra; three great-grandchildren Tyrece, Brooklyn, and Tyaundra; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Not to mention the numerous friends that he acquired along the way, because of his warmth, gentleness and compassion for others. We invite you to join us in celebrating the incredible life of this man, at Neil Bardal Inc. Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, across from Brookside Cemetery, on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Viewing one hour prior to the service. The service will also be streamed live to the funeral home website.
