Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLAIRE MOFFATT Peacefully on August 25, 2010 at the Portage General Hospital, Claire Moffatt passed away with his family at his side. Claire was predeceased by his wife Phyllis in 2001. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Ronald (Alice), Brian (Judy), Gary (Barb), Kevin (Lori), Janice (Glenn Fidelak); also, grandchildren Jillian (Paul Kurvitz), Jennifer, Courtney, Kendra, Brice, Jason, Nicolette, Terry (Taryn), Ian (Hilary), Steven, Michael, and David, and great-grandchildren Kristina and Aleksander. Dad was born one of 13 children on April 26, 1923 in Strathclair, MB. As a youth he played hockey and baseball and was an all around good athlete. He served in the Navy during the Second World War. He married Phyllis Murray on January 19, 1946. They settled in Rignold where they raised their family and Dad worked as a grain buyer until his retirement. They retired in Portage where Dad spent time with his family, enjoyed his woodworking and Terrier hockey games. He spent a number of these years working part-time for the Crop Insurance grading station where he put to use his expert knowledge of the grain industry at grading grain. Dad was a wonderful husband who gave his love and support to mum during her years in the Manor. He will be sadly missed. Funeral Service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, Portage la Prairie, MB on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. led by Rev. Marg Scott. Interment is to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in memory to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 21 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1T8 or Parkinson Society Manitoba, 171 Donald St., Suite 302, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4 or charity of choice A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel 857-4021 A message can be left in the on-line guest book at www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
