MARK PETER MOSZKIEWICZ It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark Moszkiewicz on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital. Despite his courageous battle with cancer, he was taken from us at the young age of 24. He leaves to mourn his parents Gina and Edward, his brother David, and sister Anna (John). He will be missed by countless aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout Canada, the U.S.A., and Poland. Mark was born in Winnipeg on July 30, 1986. He enjoyed travelling, figure skating, and participated in Polish folk dancing in his youth. He had a vast collection of music, and was passionate about motorcycles. He also enjoyed solving logic puzzles and watching action movies. After graduating from Garden City Collegiate he decided to spread his wings and moved to Edmonton to train in figure skating. A few years later he decided to focus on his studies and returned to Winnipeg to study Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Shortly after beginning at the University, Mark became ill, and his struggle with cancer began. The family would like to thank the doctors and health care aides at St. Boniface Hospital, but most importantly the nurses for their compassion and dedication in making Mark's stay as comfortable as possible. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father officiating. Rosary and viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. prior to the mass. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Mark's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
