BERTHA RAY November 7, 1920 August 24, 2010 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Bertha Belle Leslie Ray on August 24, 2010 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She is survived and deeply missed by her sons Leslie (Mary), Keith (Karen), David (Debbie), Larry (Marilyn) Ray her daughter Marie (Arnold) Krievaldt and Karen; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her dear sisters Vera (John) Falk, Laura Gardewine, Ialeen (Art) Pargeter, June (Harold) Imhoff, sister-in-law Shirley Leslie, brother-in-law John Punak, many nieces, nephews and special friend Thora that held special places in her heart.. She is predeceased by her mother Vera Belle Leslie Kennedy and father Robert Bertram Leslie. Brothers Robert (Eileen), Carl and Norman Leslie and sister Darlyne Punak and brother-in-law Cecil Gardewine. Bertha was born in Zealandia, Saskatchewan the oldest of nine and spent her younger years in Novra, Manitoba bordered by the Porcupine Hills that she so loved. Bertha excelled at quilting, knitting, sewing, writing, and being a certified doll maker. Bertha had a great love of the outdoors, camping, feeding birds' and spending time picking berries in her younger days. She had a great love of spending time with all her family this is what she loved best telling her wonderful stories of her earlier years. Bertha has a strong faith which always helped her through life. She had a very cheerful lookout on life throughout her difficult years. Spending time with her was always so interesting. She had a special place in her heart for little Jottie our dog. We wish to extend our fondest thanks to 5E staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind care, Jane McDonald her home nurse, and her personal care workers Kencella, Abby and Bimpe. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, at 10:00 am with interment and reception to follow. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
