JEAN (JOHNNY) M. CARIGNAN January 24, 1915 - August 22,2010 Jean Marcel Carignan has gone to his rest after a long, and fruitful life. He proudly lived and died as he wished, for 95 years - independent to the end. He leaves to mourn his passing: son, Marcel (Karin), daughter Mary-Lynne, grandchildren Joni (Brian) Fast, Danielle (Alex) Svenne, Christin Quirk and Adam (Heather) Daly; great-grandchildren Nicholas, Ursula, Sasha, Olivia, Dominique, Nicola and Alex, as well as his sisters Gabrielle, Soeur Francoise, Soeur Maria, and Alice. He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel and his daughter Joanne. A consummate salesman, Jean repaired and sold pianos for J.J.H. McLeans for over 50 years - a fact he was very proud to relate to all and sundry. He loved to travel and continued to do right up to his 88th year, when he drove, solo, to his beloved Yoho National Park. An engaging raconteur, Jean is probably now entertaining the other pool sharks in the sky with tales of his various exploits and travels in his lifetime. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Donna Pratt from home care, for helping us keep Dad in his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Sacre Coeur Parish Church, 424 Brandon Avenue. Viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart or Lung Association would be appreciated.
