Date of Passing: Aug 02, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDEBORAH LOUISE TURNER The friends of Deborah Louise Turner are saddened by her sudden passing on August 2, 2010, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 58. Deb grew up in Morden where her dad owned a bakery. Always an A-student, she completed the Secretarial Science course at Red River Community College in 1972 and later obtained a teaching degree from the University of Winnipeg. Deb worked in various places throughout her secretarial career, including The Winnipeg Tribune, Beaver Lumber and The Manitoba Museum, and taught in Swan Lake and Mariapolis. She then worked with the federal EI office in Morden and for Employment Manitoba in Portage la Prairie until her passing. Deb was a voracious reader and shopper. She loved anything British, especially Corrie and her Britcoms, and visited Great Britain several times. She loved music and played the piano, organ and banjo. Mostly, she loved her cats, Dominic and Alfie. Deb was intelligent, colourful, and loved to laugh. She knew her own mind and always believed that there was a proper way to do things. Deb was predeceased by her father, George, and leaves to mourn her mother, Elsie, her sister Rilla (Dave), nephews Travis and Tristan, relatives in England and Morden, friends and co-workers around Manitoba, and her newly found half-sisters and their families. Deb was devoted to the care of her parents and was still giving loving care to her mum. Interment took place in the family plot in Morden. Deb's friends, co-workers, and some family recently gathered in Portage to honour her with a tea. We think she would have approved. If friends so choose, donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, your favourite animal shelter, or the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage. Thanks for coming into our lives, Deb.
