Bruce was born in Sanford at the family home on June 12, 1952. He obtained his elementary and secondary education at Sanford. Following high school, Bruce, who was always one for adventure, decided to join the navy, during which time he traveled extensively. After his time in the navy, he was drawn to the trucking industry, first as a driver, and in later years as a salesman. It was during this time as a salesman that he reached his full potential, receiving many awards for his salesmanship and integrity. On April 2, 1977, Bruce married the love of his life Roxanne (Roxy) Brown. They settled in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, eventually building homes in Vermillion and Red Deer, Alberta. Together they enjoyed golf, travel to their condo in Mexico, the company of their cat, and the pleasure of road trips in their corvette. Bruce leaves to mourn his devoted wife, Roxy, who cared for him at home during his illness; his mother, Verlie Junkin of Winnipeg; his sister, Muriel Joan Lukovich and her husband, Ted, of Winnipeg; his niece, Jennifer Verlaine Lukovich of Winnipeg. He also leaves his uncle, Bruce Junkin and his wife, Noreen, of Mesa, Arizona; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Brown of Biggar, Saskatchewan and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and colleagues. A funeral service was held in Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, August 27, 2010. Interment to follow at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice. Bruce will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered by family and friends. Rest in peace, Bruce.
