WILLIAM (BILL) LAWRENCE MILLER It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our loved one, Bill Miller on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the age of 67 years. Remaining to forever cherish Bill's memory are his sons Christopher (Sandy), Jason (Jessica); grandson Nicholas; brothers Bob (Janice) and Fred, along with many other members of his extended family and numerous dear friends. He was predeceased by both his parents, Mary (nee Magas) and William Miller and his sister-in-law Gaye Miller. Bill was born, raised, and lived all his life in the community of Transcona. He had a long, successful career as a restaurant equipment salesperson with Russell Food Equipment. After many years of service, he decided to retire and focus more on a few of his hobbies. Anybody that knew Bill would know he loved to dance; that is how he acquired such a huge network of friends. Going to a dinner and dance was a regular occurrence for him. He loved to meet new people and wouldn't hesitate to invite or welcome a complete stranger to join him at his table. Bill was a great story-teller with a quick wit and the ability to make others laugh; a true talent in our eyes. On Thursday, September 2, 2010 a Celebration of Bill's Life will be held in The Springs Church, 725 Lagimodiere Blvd. at 10:00 a.m. We welcome everyone to join us immediately afterwards for some refreshments and a light lunch. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Kumar and the staff at CancerCare Manitoba for the extra special care they provided. Chris, Sandy, Jason and Jessica would also like to acknowledge and thank their mom, Diane Miller for all her overwhelming love and support; also over the past few years, our Uncle Bob and Auntie Janice have spent an enormous amount of their time caring for a few of our family members in need of many things. We love you both for this and appreciate everything you have done. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Will miss our friend and neighbor. Bill was always friendly to talk to and we had many conversations when we met in the back lane. He was also comical at times as he would often phone our house soon after he left his as he couldn; remember if he had closed his garage door or not. Adios old friend, and may all go well with your family. The Steins. - Posted by: Don and Pat Stein (Across the lane neighbors) on: Nov 11, 2012

  • I was very shocked to hear the news about Bill on Thursday 26 @ the Legion where he loved to go dancing. I found Bill to be a very pleasant man, always helpful and courteous. I will miss his smile and talking to him. I will have you in my prayers, that your hearts will be healed and that the void you are feeling now will slowly disapear. With all my love Gabriele - Posted by: Gabriele Fazekas (Family) on: Sep 02, 2010
