Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH HUTTON 1914 2010 It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our much loved Mother, Grama, and Great-Grama on August 23, 2010 at the Victoria Hospital with her family beside her. Edith was born to Roderick and Elizabeth Morrison on March 27, 1914 in Brandon, MB. She was the eldest of five; one sister Evelyn and three brothers Ken, Bill, and Finlay. She lived and took her schooling in Minnedosa moving only after her marriage to Gordon and they went to Neepawa to live. After a few years the family moved East upon retiring, Gordon and Edith decided to move to BC where they resided for 30 plus years. They returned to Winnipeg in 1995. Gordon passed away in 1997. She is also predeceased by one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Grama will be missed and lovingly remembered by daughter Shirley (Ken) Sellner; grandchildren Debra (Andrew) MacGill, David (Corina); grandson Andrew; great-grandchildren Alexander and Lauren MacGill and Denver Sellner; cousin and friend Audrey Reimer all from Winnipeg. Grama was a quiet little lady. She enjoyed family visits and outings. Car rides were very special, just to see the open spaces outside our city. She loved to play card games. She liked Whist and enjoyed playing with her family. She liked games even at her expense many laughs were had, she always found the funny side. Due to her Macular she did not do many things she loved to do but she still had a smile and enjoyed sitting and listening and talking when involved. We want to thank the friends she made during her nearly 15 years at 2610 Portage. To all who helped her when she felt she needed (even when not). Thanks to the ladies who went to Robins for coffee or the bus to Safeway. The nights in the lobby sitting, having a few laughs just being together. To even the men who stopped to say hello. All the people who said hello upon entering the building. She felt she was part of it all. Hugs. We thank her homecare workers at 2610 Portage who to Grama, you were all visitors and someone to talk with. We thank each and everybody. The girls in the office, her hairdresser who came each week and became good friends and visitors. The foot lady was also a special visit for Grama. Cousin Audrey your calls meant so much, we love you big hugs! Mom so often ran into people at Robins who she would have conversations with, when she would be out and about with family it would turn out that many of these people where already connected in one way or another to her family by friendship. It really is such a small world. We want to thank Poseidon Care Center that had been her home for the past six months. All of you made her feel very special and wanted. Your cheerful smile and kind words were great for her to hear. You all deserve hugs and thank you personally. Dr. Smart the house doctor, nurses and all the staff who looked after our Grama right down to the cleaning staff - who always had a big smile and hug and a cheery hello. Dr. David Breckman her long steady physician we thank you for advice, some laughs and all the care she needed. Thanks Nicole. We thank Dr. Stockl and staff for being so kind and patient to our Grama and making her feel she was doing okay. Victoria Hospital, medics, emergency 5th floor north, Doctors and staff you were all great. Hugs to you all. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
