LAURAINE DUVAL (ROBINSON) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Lauraine Mildren DuVal on August 21, 2010, at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Allan and is survived by her daughters Doloris (Robert), Pam (Albert) and her very special son Brent. She also leaves three grandchildren Cassie (Mia and Andrew), Blane (Dayton and Jason), and Chris (Dakota). Born in Elphinstone, MB on March 9, l920, Lauraine was the only child of Constance and William Robinson. Although she spent her early childhood in Jasper, AB Lauraine spent the rest of her life in Winnipeg. She met the love of her life in Grade Four at Ralph Brown Elementary School and many years later, on March 9, l940 they married and went on to enjoy over 50 years together. As parents they devoted a great deal of their time to the Manitoba Special Olympics and were involved in this organization right from its beginnings. As grandparents, Lauraine and Allan were active participants in the lives of each of their grandchildren. After Allan's death in l99l, our family remained at the centre of Lauraine's life and she and Brent continued to share a mutual sense of devotion. Each family member will miss her deeply in their own way. Our family wishes to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness over the past weeks. We are also grateful to Len Thom for the friendship and support he offered to Lauraine over the years. Following our mother's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a small family service for interment at a later date. Donation on Lauraine's behalf can be made to WASO (Work And Social Opportunities), 840 McLeod Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2G 2T7. ... and she watches over us all from her star in the sky ...
