CARL EDWARD WEGIER (CURLY) 1930 - 2010 Passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the St. Boniface Hospital after a brief illness. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years Bernice (nee Myslicki), son Glenn (Lorraine), daughter Debbie, brother Walter (Margaret and family); grandchildren Jayme (Michael) and Matthew and great-grandchildren Quinn and Ruby, as well as nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary (nee Lypka) and sister Johanne. Carl was born in Elma, MB on July 14, 1930, moving to Winnipeg in 1936, and started his profession in barbering in 1948. He opened Carl's Barber Shop on Des Meurons Street in 1950 and worked until one week before his 80th birthday in July 2010. Carl was a longtime member of St. Sebastian Archery Club and served on the executive committee for a number of years. A funeral mass will be held following cremation at St. Andrew Bobola Roman Catholic Church, 541 Marion Street on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 0G7.
