Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE ISABELLA SMITH (nee WILSON) Marjorie passed away at the Grace Hospital on September 1, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband Neil and brothers Kenneth and Robert and is survived by her brother Jack (Helen), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie was born and raised at Stony Mountain, MB, and after military service, returned to reside there into retirement. For the past few years, she has been a resident of Sturgeon Creek Retirement 1 Retirement Residence. Marjorie had a lifelong interest in art which later included china painting, and was a member of the Norman Art Group. As a mature student, she earned a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba. Marjorie had many interests in addition to her art work. She was active in the RCAF-WD retirement group, and a Committee Member for the reunion held in Winnipeg in 2006. She also enjoyed many activities as a member of the Red Hat Society. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Tuesday, September 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with private family interment to follow at Christ Church Cemetery, Stony Mountain. The family extends our appreciation to the staff of Grace Hospital and Sturgeon Creek Retirement, as well as her many friends, for the care and kindness extended to Marjorie during her illness.
