ELLEN MARGARET OLAFSON Ellen passed away peacefully on September 3, 2010 at the Lundar Personal Care Home, Lundar, MB. Ellen was born at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg on July 14, 1940 to Einar and Emma (Sigurdur) Olafson. Home to Ellen was their ranch near Crane River, MB where she and her only brother Mundi were raised and also home schooled by Emma. She and Mundi and her parents ranched there. After Einar's passing in 1963, they continued their love of ranching until 1986. Due to failing health, they, and uncle Stoney, moved to Lundar. Ellen was predeceased by Mundi in 1988, Stoney in 1998 and Emma in 2001. She remained in her home until November 22, 2003 when she moved into the Lundar Personal Care Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the hall. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 or to the West Interlake Handi-Van Association, Box 484, Lundar, MB R0C 1Y0.
