IRMA FRIESEN (nee GAUTHIER) October 24, 1941 ~ September 3, 2010 This is not an ending to the story, because a true love story never ends...in fact, love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. 1 Corinthians 13: 7-8 And so, after a mere two months of separation, Irma rejoined her love of more than 48 years, to resume their journey together in Heaven. Irma left a legacy of love through her devoted children, Chad (Maryann) and Tracy (Tim) and her grandchildren, Amber, Marissa, Brooke and Cameron. She will be sadly missed by her brother Gerry (Christine); her niece Colette (Keith); nephews, Ron, Terry and Jason and their families, as well as innumerable friends. Greeting her at the gates of Heaven with John, were her sister Muriel; brother-in-law Alan; and her parents, Andre and Janet Gauthier. Irma lived a life full of love, laughter, fun, family, friends, faith, food and celebration. She was kind, honest, loyal, hardworking and incredibly strong. To her grandchildren, she left the following words of wisdom: ...live your life with honesty and love. Always be ready to forgive and carry on. Follow your heart and dreams and never be afraid to show someone how you feel - if you love them, say so. Enjoy every day and see the people you care about. Travel and see the world if you can. You can do anything you put your mind to; never give up on a dream or a friend. Laugh often and be happy. Life is a gift, don't take it for granted. Make the best of what you have every day...and always remember how much Grandma and Grandpa loved you... . Irma lived by these beliefs...it's advice we should all take to heart. Her family deeply appreciates the many gestures of friendship, support and prayer. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 710 Roanoke. Fr. Ed Bonin presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irma's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
