Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA KAPTIJ (LABAY) (nee KRYCKI) Anna Kaptij passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Holy Family Home. Anna was born March 19, 1919 in Ottynia, Ukraine. She arrived in Canada in 1929 with her parents, John Krycki (1939) and Anastasia (1972). Anna was predeceased by her first husband, Harry Labay (1966) and her second husband, John Kaptij (1998). Anna is survived by sons, Danny (Pauline) and their children, Daniel, Darryl, Daria Grant (Dan) and grandchildren, Wiley and Dylan of Victoria and Ray (Nadia) and their son Curtis (Arté-mia)and grandchild, Casey and John Kaptij's family. Anna was very active all her life, being a member and supporting many church and cultural organizations. A great cook, Anna would always have a feast to welcome anyone who dropped in. The family gratefully thanks the staff at St. John's ward for their tender care, Dr. Taras Babick, family doctor and friend and many friends who visited her. Thank you to Fr. Klimchuk and the Sisters of Holy Family Home for their prayers. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 10 at St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St. with Rt. Rev. Canon W. Klimchuk officiating. A private family interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
