LEE V. RIGBY (nee NIKOTA) April 3, 1926 September 2, 2010 After a lengthy illness Mom passed away with her family by her side at Riverview Health Centre. Mom was predeceased by her husband Ed (1968); companion Bill Nosaty (2003); her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nikota; her brother Ed Nikota; and sister Gladys Cummings. Left with many wonderful memories and sad hearts are daughter Sharon (Dave) Ross; granddaughter Tara Lee (Jason) Caldwell and great-grandchildren Mason and Makenna. Her surviving siblings are Marge Bain, Anne (Mike) Juba, Elsie Hudson, Bernice Fortier and Mervin (Iolene) Nikota. Lee always took great pride in her home and garden. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Holiday meals were always a special treat at her home and there were many of them. Lee loved life and worked very hard. In her younger years after arriving from Yorkton, SK she did waitress work and attended night school to complete a business course. She worked at the original Lance Publishing and Printing Co. for many years eventually becoming office manager. After retirement she enjoyed travelling and went whenever possible. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aides, also Carmen and Maureen at Riverview Health Centre for their thoughtful care. A special thank you to Aunt Elsie and dear friend Janice Sine for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association of Manitoba, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. Pallbearers will be: Dave Ross, Jason Caldwell, Mervin Nikota, George Remillard, Albert Wymer, Allan Taylor. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. Interment will follow in St. Vital Cemetery.
