TERRY PIGGOTT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather Terry Piggott at age 65, after a courageous battle with cancer. Terry was predeceased by his parents Art and Eva Piggott and sister Shirley Bye (Piggott). Remaining to forever cherish his memories are his children Lynne (Laurent), Marcia (Mike), and Mike (Shawna), his grandchildren Sarah, Makayla, Eva, Maeve and Mairin and nephew Rob (Christine). Terry was born September 8, 1944 and spent the majority of his formative years in E.K. Upon graduation from Miles Mac, Terry went on to become an Engineering Technologist working for 35 plus years at Manitoba Hydro, where he made some lifelong friends. Terry loved sports; during his younger years he was involved in a variety of sports including: football, baseball, ping pong, darts, rugby and beach volley ball. He was an excellent crib and bridge player; he played and won many tournaments throughout the years. Dad enjoyed dancing especially two stepping. Most every Friday and Saturday night was spent at one dance or another. When his children were younger he spent countless hours taking each child to their sporting activities even coaching soccer for a few years. He could always be heard on the sidelines cheering his kids on. Most of all he was a proud hockey Dad who loved to go to all the games, tournaments and practices. He was also very involved in all aspects of his children's schooling from homework to parent council. Some of Terry's happiest moments were spent at the cabin. He enjoyed taking his kids out in the boat fishing and going for long walks. In the last few years Terry struggled with Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Terry was honoured to participate in a drug study for IPF run by Dr. Lawrence Homik. Special thanks to Dr. Lawrence Homik and Debbie Homik for all of their support over the years. You'll never know how much your kindness, caring, and compassion meant to Terry; he considered you friends. Thanks also to all the staff at Grace Hospice and hospital. You were a great support to both Terry and his family. A service to celebrate Terry's life will be held on Monday, September 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Fathers hold their children's hands for just a little while... And their hearts forever. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
