ALEXANDRE DESROCHERS 1909 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alexandre Desrochers at the age of 101 years on September 8, 2010 at the ExtendiCare Oakview Place with his family by his side. Alex leaves to cherish his memory, his six children, Ilene, Leona, Ulysses (Della), Carole, Brigitte (Gilles), and Donald (Myrna); 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 10 great- great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alex was born in 1909 in Baie St. Paul, Manitoba. As a young child, he moved with his parents and sister to the south side of the Assiniboine River to the present family farm, where he toiled until he retired at the age of 95. A man with a strong work ethic, he would never leave for tomorrow that which should be done today. Grandchildren were precious to him and he loved to have them come to the farm as much as the children loved to be there. He was predeceased by his wife, Aurea in 1999; two infant sons, Hubert and Joseph; granddaughter, Nichole in 2003; sons-in-law, Roger Lachance in 2008, and Damase Dufresne in 2009; his sister, Clara and brother-in-law, Henri St. Germain. The family extends thanks and deepest appreciation to the nursing and support staff at Oakview Place for their great care and compassion. Special thanks to Darlene, his little darling , and Maureen and Shirley for their extra care. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church in St. Eustache, Manitoba at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated by Father Paul Tinguely assisted by Father Isaie Blanchette. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Alex's memory to a charity of one's choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
