JOAN KACHER 1942 - 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Kacher (nee Caton) on September 4, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Elizabeth (nee Jestadt), and most recently by her husband Mark in February of this year. Joan leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Paul (Jude); her precious grandson, Riley; her brother, Richard (Marlene); her sister, Noreen (Lionel); her sister-in-law, Rosie Martin; her nieces, Kerri (Robb), Charlene (Byron), Tracy, Lesley; her nephew, Brett; her grandniece and nephews, Page, Brandon, Bryce, Brayden, Auston, Brendan, and Colby, as well as devoted friends and neighbours who helped in her time of need and while in the hospital. Joan enjoyed life to the fullest with a vibrant personality and a winning smile. We will all remember the family parties and celebrations hosted by Mark and Joan, marked by her vivacious spirit and adept skills at cooking and her art of making delicious fancy sandwiches for special occasions , scrumptious cheesecakes and other baked goods for Christmas dinners during the holidays with family and friends. Special thanks to niece Tracy for serenading during long night hours with her soothing voice and guitar to lull Joan to restful sleep. Many thanks also to the doctors and special nurses and aides for their wonderful care and compassion to Joan and family while she was in the hospital. In keeping with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
