Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN A. WOLFE July 29, 1926 - September 9, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father, John A. Wolfe, at the age of 84 at his home in Winnipeg. John is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Isadora (Is), daughters Michele and Sandra, sons Mike (Connie) and Jeff (Kelly), grandchildren Chelsea, Sam, Brittnee, Luke, Alexa and Ryan. John will also be missed by his sisters Anne (Jake), Katie (Pete), Helen (John) and brother Dave (Leigh) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his brothers Abe, Jake, Henry, Peter, sister Mary as well as his parents Annie and Abe. John was born in Reinfeld, MB on July 29, 1926 and was the oldest of 10 children. John and Is married in Winkler on August 19, 1951 and moved to Winnipeg where they built a home in Charleswood and raised their four children. John and Is made many friends in Charleswood and tell legendary stories of annual fireworks parties, neighbourhood pool and dinner parties and frosty snowmobile trips to name a few. John had a successful career in the Window Industry: first at Associated Window Walls, followed by Paramount Windows, Winco and Duraco, and owning his own company J.A.W. Enterprises and was also President of the Manitoba Home Builders Association (MHBA) in the mid 1970s. John and Is spent many weekends at their cottage in Lac du Bonnet and eventually retired there in the early 1990s. It was at this time that John came out of retirement to set up the Wasenikan Window manufacturing facility at Little Black River and managed operations for three years until he retired permanently. John and Is returned to Winnipeg in 2002. John loved travelling, pontoon boat cruises, snowmobiling, fishing, golfing, barbecuing, entertaining and spending time with family and friends. When together there was never a dull moment. John had a great sense of humour, always the entertainer he would never hesitate to bring out the harmonicas. We will miss him dearly but can't help think of his words of advice... Nothing is as tough as it seems to be, even though it seems to be. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service and celebration of John's life will be held on Thursday, September 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
