JOHN BRADLEY (BRAD) KOKS September 19, 1958 - September 9, 2010 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Brad, with his loving family by his side, at the Manzankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Edmonton on September 9, 2010. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his sons Justin and Bryan, his parents Tonis and Hazel, his brothers Dean (Linda) and Howard (Jo-Anne), his nieces Charr and Celine (Brian). Brad was born in Winnipeg and received his elementary and high school education in Transcona. He completed the Business Administration program at Grant McEwen College in Edmonton. As a youngster Brad enjoyed his summers at the family cottage at Brereton Lake and his winters playing hockey. Brad's love of music began at an early age, starting with piano lessons but soon he found his beloved drums playing in several rock bands. Some of his favourite bands were The Who and Santana. His musical interests later expanded to include a passion for jazz and blues. Brad and Pat were married on September 14, 1985 and began their life together, raising their two boys, Justin and Bryan. Brad was always his happiest when he was with Pat and his boys camping and fishing in the Rockies. Spending time with his boys was the most important thing to Brad, and he was always so proud of them. Brad had a successful career being employed by ABB Inc. for many years in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Edmonton and more recently, at R. L. Brews Limited as Utility Sales Manager. His career also allowed him the opportunity to travel to several countries and see much of Canada. He's gone but he will not be forgotten. Brad's family would like to thank the entire medical team at the Manzankowski Alberta Heart Institute for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodière Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
