March 14, 1928 - September 11, 2010 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Florentino C. Moises Sr. at the age of 82 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Erlinda, son Renato (Celia), daughter Erlinda, son Ricardo (Gwen) in the Philippines, daughter Nelia (Mar) Antonio, son Florentino Jr. (Rhoda), daughter Myrna (Hermie) Villanueva, son Fernando (Olive), daughter Mila and his adopted son Joey; grandchildren Joanne (Rey), Debbie (Vijay), Shaun, Anthony, Aileen, Aimee, Christopher Bonn, Christian, and Mira, John Ray, Ricric, Ricar, Gerard and Queennie in the Philippines; great-grandchildren Lucas, Laci, Jaidy and Jonathan; sisters Mauricia Andrada and Aurelia Moises of the Philippines, Maxima Cabrillas of Winnipeg, Linda Ong and Aquilina Sangalang of Calgary, as well as his nieces and nephews in the Philippines, Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg. He also leaves to mourn his loss Henny and Fe (Lito). He was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children Juana Moises in 1976, parents Fernando and Rafaela Moises, brothers Silvino and Anacleto Moises and sister Candida Moises. Florentino spent most of his work life in the Philippines where he was first a teacher and later became a school Principal at the Elementary East Central School in Guimba, Nueva Ecija, until his retirement and departure to Canada. He came to Winnipeg on December 10, 1982 where he worked at Furgale Industries as a lead hand until he retired from that company. His favourite pastime was gardening and fishing during the summer months and the winter months ice fishing and enjoyed the gatherings with all his family members during Birthdays and Holiday Celebrations. The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre at GA3 and especially GH4 for their understanding, care and compassion they gave him during his last days on this earth. Viewing/Lamay and a celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 and Friday, September 17, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Prayers will start at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edwards the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington Street on Saturday, September 18, 2010 with interment to follow at Glen Eden.
