Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAARON GOLDMAN In the presence of his loving family, Aaron passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, September 5, 2010. Born in Mezrich Poland on October 22, 1923 to Peter and Faige, he leaves to mourn, Randee, his devoted wife of 60 years, daughter Carla, son Hartley and granddaughters Mariel, Jamie, and Danica. Also cherishing his memory are brothers Sam and Buck (Ben), sister Minnie Sterling and many admiring extended family members and friends. Aaron led a fulfilled and enriched life, made possible by his ambition, intuition and dedication to everything he did. Emigrating at age two, he spent his formative years in the North end of Winnipeg. Following his honoured service in the Royal Canadian Air Force, he embarked on a path that encompassed a variety of personal interests and entrepreneurial ventures. From a love of piloting his own aircraft, running the bases as player/president of the 20th Century Baseball League, a passionate and enthusiastic commitment to the success and growth of both the Winnipeg Jewish Theatre and the synagogue at Winnipeg Beach, his business career formed a complete circle, beginning and concluding at Zol-Mark Industries. Hired as a salesman, within a few short years, Aaron took the knowledge and skills he learned and moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Over the course of the next two decades, he established himself prominently in the community while simultaneously operating several businesses with Randee that included an ice-cream parlour, ladies wear and shoe stores and a night club. With foresight to the future, Aaron moved the family back to Winnipeg in 1970 whereupon he rejoined Zol-Mark working tirelessly until his retirement in 2006. Overshadowing all his personal accomplish-ments, is Aaron himself. A modest man of integrity, warmth, humour, passion and compassion, his greatest gifts were his generosity, zest for life, and unconditional love and acceptance of everyone he met. Not only was Aaron a King of the Diamond , he will forever be a King to all who knew him. Services officiated by Rabbi Green were held September 8, 2010 with interment at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shawn Yaffe, Brian Feuer, Howie Mandel, Richard Yaffe, Kevin Drennan and Benjamin Ashley. Honourary Pallbearers were Laurie Mainster, Ben Van Ruiten, Saul Davis, Dr. Clifford Yaffe, Ben Burke, Judge Howard Collerman and Dr. Neil Simonsen. The family expresses our sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and entire staff of the 7 West floor at St. Boniface Hospital for the dedicated and compassionate care extended to Aaron. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be sent to a charity of choice.
