JOSEPH LUKE TURSKI July 5, 1927 September 13, 2010 Peacefully with courage and his family by his side, Joseph passed away on September 13, 2010 at the Victoria General Hospital. Joseph is survived by his wife Elsie with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 1, 2010. As per Dad's request, the immediate family celebrated this milestone with an evening at his favourite restaurant, The Keg. It was what he wanted. Dad is also survived by his five children and their families Albert (Jarek, Sarah), Robert and Heather (Nicholas, Andrew), Teresa and Ken (Courtney, Jennifer), Roberta, Cindy (Luke). Prayers will be said on Thursday, September 16 at 8:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, 85 Kirkbridge Drive with Fr. Sebastian Gacki the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery on Red River Drive in Howden, Manitoba. Pallbearers will be his three grandsons Nicholas, Jarek and Andrew Turski, son-in-law Ken Uruski, nephews Tom Schindel Jr. and Leslie Carriere. Honourary pallbearer is his youngest grandson Luke Hendrickson. The family extends their gratitude to the 4th floor staff at Victoria General Hospital and his physician Dr. C.S. Lowden for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
