LAURA DAMSGAARD (nee BOLES) With peaceful but heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and friend, Laura Damsgaard, age 86 years. Laura will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her children Brian (Wendy) of Dauphin, Bonar (Sherri) of Kelowna, Karen (Ken) Irvine, Donna (Bill) Wilford, Rob (Tanya) all of Winnipeg; grandchildren Bradley, Kristopher, Kevin, Dwayne (Jamie), Kraig, Darren, Meaghan, Marissa and Madison, great-grandchild Addison, brother-in-law Gunnar (Myrtle) of Dauphin and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Fred, parents Maude and Jasper Boles, sister Roxie Boles and granddaughter Leanne Damsgaard. Laura was born July 28, 1924 in Ochre River the oldest of two girls. She married Fred April 21, 1942 and they shared many wonderful times together for 67 years before his passing last October. Laura and Fred had a mixed farming operation before retiring in 1984 initially to the Eclipse area and then to Dauphin. Most recently Laura resided at the Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg where she was still able to win the trivia contests and challenge anyone at Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. Always active in the community, Laura was a keen volunteer with the Dauphin Domestic Dynamoes 4-H Club, The Dauphin Agricultural Society, The BPO Elks Ladies Auxilliary. She was the true epitome of the stay at home Mom always putting her children first baking and sewing and canning the garden produce. There could never be too many flowers in Laura's garden as she spent many happy hours caring for her yard. We're sure heaven is bordered by pink petunias already. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 16 at Riverside Chapel. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services 204-638-4110 www.sneathstrilchuk.com
