DOROTHY KOZMINCHUK (nee SHUEL) It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our loving wife, cherished mother, and loving Baba, Dorothy Kozminchuk, on September 12, 2010, at the Women's Pavilion, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Victor; daughters, Sharon (Todd), Janice (Ron), and two adored grand-children Tianna and Reese. She also leaves to mourn her loss brother Edward (Agatha), numerous in-laws, relatives and good friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Fred Shuel; and brother Ernest Shuel. Dorothy was born on July 13, 1938 and grew up in Hazelridge, MB. At an early age Dorothy assisted her parents at their Hazelridge dance hall. Dorothy was also involved in the 4-H Club. In 1952, the family moved to Winnipeg, where she has resided for many years. In 1959, Dorothy met her loving husband Victor, and they were married on July 7, 1962, and began their life together, raising their children Sharon and Janice. Through the years Dorothy worked at Burns, Rossmere Golf and Country Club, helping her parents in the Shuel's catering business, and the Bay downtown until her early retirement in 1995. Dorothy enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She also enjoyed travelling, taking various trips with Victor to places in Canada and the United States, along with her casino trips. Dorothy's other great passions were baking, making perogies, and other Ukrainian foods, and her gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed taking care and spending lots of time with her grandchildren, with whom they called her Baba! . Dorothy and Victor looked forward to dancing every Saturday evening at Legion #215 on DeVries Avenue. The family wishes to thank the 5th floor staff at the Women's Pavilion for the wonderful care they provided for Dorothy. Special thanks to Drs. Oscar and Sheila Domke, Drs. Krepart and Lotocki for the excellent care they have given Dorothy over the years. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Dorothy you will be lovingly remembered and forever in our hearts, Love Victor, Sharon (Todd), Janice (Ron), Tianna and Reese. Rest in Peace Vichnaya Pam'Yat.
