JEFFREY H. WILKIE Early in a life dedicated to motivating, encouraging and giving to everyone he met, we are profoundly saddened to announce that our father, son, brother, friend and colleague has passed away September 15, 2010. Jeff was born on January 21, 1966. Predeceased by his mother Joan in 1993 and his wife Dawn in 2008, he is sadly missed by scores of people who were touched by his friendliness, care and inspiration. Jeff will be remembered forever by his daughter Karlie, his son Jonah, his father Donald and stepmother Millie, his in-laws Gail and Clarence Pischke, his brothers Dave (Dolores) and Doug (Doreen), his sister Heather (Doug), his sisters-in-law Diane (Leo), Judy (Darryl) and the many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him, not just for his sense of humour and interest in their lives, but also for his ability to cook and barbeque his most flavourful dishes. Jeff was the most optimistic person in the room. He could only see the bright side...his cup was always full. His priority was always his children and he loved life and shared every bit of it with them. Jeff was passionate about his work as Branch Manager at Scotiabank Selkirk branch where he touched many of his colleagues with his enthusiasm, generosity and support. He was an organizer and ran large charity golf tournaments each year. Jeff loved the outdoors, boating, his party-mobile and vacationing in Fort Lauderdale. From the age of nine, Jeff was a football star and won many awards over the years. He turned to softball and played for two teams each year for much of his adult life. Jeff enjoyed golf and powered his four-wood past anybody's drive. He lived life large and few could keep up. He took everything over the top and made our lives a much better place every day. Staff at the St. Boniface General Hospital ICU were awesome, caring, truly involved and the best you could hope for. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street. Seating is limited and parking is street only. A reception will be held immediately following the funeral from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Victoria Inn, 1808 Wellington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations would be much appreciated to The Jonah and Karlie Wilkie Trust and can be dropped off or mailed to any Scotiabank branch.
