Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA JEAN PAYNE Ph.D 1941 - 2010 Peacefully, surrounded by family on September, 17, 2010 she passed away after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Mom will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children; Andrew Platt (Tina Scherz), and Josh Platt (Stephanie Gilbart). Nana adored her grandchildren and loved to spoil Alexa, Bronwyn, Ethan, and Anika. Barb cherished her time with Ian Maclean, and her continued friendship with John Platt. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Marilyn Ivany, nieces and wide reaching circle of friends. The family greatly appreciates the outpouring of support. Mom/ Nana/ Barb is on her next adventure. Is No more Not of this body Not of this world But of the universe Unfurled and beyond But never, ever, gone. A remembrance service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). I met Barbara only once, through a mutual friend in Toronto, for an evening dinner and she left such an impression on me as a warm, caring, fun-loving, kind person.
