Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMELBA EMILY JOY SCHELFAUT (PAGE - MCCULLOUGH) 1920 - 2010 Melba passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Calvary Place Personal Care Home, with family by her side. Predeceased by her loving husband Arthur, son-in-law Owen Albrechtsen, her parents, brothers Murray and Maurice, sisters Edith and Viola. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joan; granddaughter, Lori Joyal (Noël); grandson, Randy Plant (Ardith); great-grandchildren Désirée, Gordon, Donald and Richard. Also left to mourn her passing is her sister Jean, brother Bert and many nieces and nephews. Melba was born July 9, 1920 in Solsgirth, MB near Birtle. She grew up in the Stonewall area before moving to Winnipeg. She attended Wellington and General Wolfe Schools where she met the love of her life, Arthur. They got married in 1936 and shared 66 happy years together. Melba was a dedicated homemaker and mother and also spent many happy years helping to raise her grandchildren. Melba loved music and had a song for every occasion. She always put her family first and enjoyed time with family and friends. She was nice and kind to everyone she met. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Calvary Place for their care and compassion in looking after Melba for the past several years. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Melba's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. A celebration of Melba's life will take place on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
