MARY ADELL MCKERCHER On Tuesday, September 21, 2010 surrounded by her family at the Concordia Hospital, Mary McKercher, aged 82 years, of Gimli, MB. Mary was born on May 5, 1928 in Lac Vert, SK. In 1948 she married Gordon and they moved to Flin Flon in 1950. In 1960 they moved to Snow Lake and in 1996 they settled in Gimli. In 1981 Mary completed her hairdressing school in Brandon. She worked at her hairdressing shop for ten years and then retired to travel with Gordon until his health gave out. Mary was a member of the C.W.L. for 55 years. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and sewing. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon; parents Henry and Adell; brothers Henry, John and Hubert; sisters Mickey and Betty. She is survived by her daughters Adell Sigurdur (Bob), Maralyn Romaniuk (Ed), Jean McKercher, Brenda McKercher, Rhea Turchinetz (Bill) and Barbara McKercher (Jay); sons Hugh (Cookie), Dan (Bernice), John (Dori), Tom (Deb) and Robert (Linnea); 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Prayers will said on Friday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Morrissey officiating. Interment will follow in the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society, 302-171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4.
