GRIFFITHS September 30, 1924 - September 20, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Griffiths on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Grace Hospital, with her family by her side. Muriel is survived by her children Donna Chaisson, Judy Lagasse and David Chaisson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Stacey) Smith, Jeffrey (Alexis) Peplinskie, Mark (Jodi) Lagasse, Paul (Candida) Lagasse; great-grandchildren, Abby, Emily, Bella, Olivia Smith, Meadow, Tia, Charlie Lagasse; sisters, Chris (Byron) Hardy, Dorothy (Charles) Gray; brothers, Vernon, Bud (Fran), Clive, Eldon (Cora), Fred (Marilyn) Hardy; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Muriel leaves our company to join the two loves of her life, Roy Chaisson and Norman Griffiths. Muriel was predeceased by her parents, Emerson and Hazel; sisters, Mabel, Deanie, Elizabeth; and by her granddaughter Nicole Lagasse. Muriel was born in Elmsdale, PEI. She moved to Winnipeg in 1956 with her husband and family. Muriel loved her work at the Hudson's Bay Company toy department and went on to retire from Air Canada Revenue Accounting. In her spare time Muriel spent countless hours at the lake' on Caribou Lake, making it her home away from home. When not at the lake, her time was spent with friends at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, Army and Navy Branch #283 and with her friends at the War Amps. She will be remembered as a kind and giving person by those who knew her. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Allen Schroder and the staff at the Grace Hospital, 5th floor for the care and compassion they provided. Honorary pallbearers are Susan and Debbie MacLean, Dorothy Pong, Pat Hart, Lynne Van Tassle, Terry Murray. Memorial service in celebration of Muriel's life will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations to the War Amps Champ Program or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Muriel's honour would be appreciated.
