RONALD STEWART AIRD 1932 2010 With great regret and sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald Aird. On Sunday, September 19, 2010 he left this life peacefully, his wife at his side. Remembering him are his wife Teresa of 53 years; his sons, Douglas (Todzia), Robert (Alison) and James; grand-children, Richard, Victoria and Brian; brother Jack, sisters, Catherine Fasano and Irene Bullen (Norman); many nieces and nephews; and loyal friends, Pat Beaman and Don Leslie. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Angela and brother-in-law Thom Fasano. Ron was born in Transcona on June 20, 1932, grew up in Winnipeg and graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. After living in Sault Ste Marie for 4.5 years, he returned to Winnipeg with his young family and began a career in Real Estate. This included both sales and mortgage appraisals. He was very proud of being recognized by the WREB for 40 years of membership. Having three boys it was natural for Ron to be passionately involved in sports. Hockey became his favourite and he spent many an evening as a spectator. He was recognized for his long years as a volunteer by the CAHA. Ron loved to travel by car and was always ready for his next adventure in cowboy country . We know he has now found peace and his next adventure. Thank you both David from Homecare and St. Boniface Hospital 5E for your care and compassion. Memorial service details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I remember my Uncle Ron as a great Story Teller. He came back from one of his trips to the Western States and brought us Rocky Mountain Candy and we were all excited to hear the stories from out west. I also remember being on a toboggen being towed behind the car in Transcona He was fun full of life and we always enjoyed his visits.
